Pre-K Classroom

As your child’s independence grows, so does the opportunities within A KID’S LIFE. Your child will have a structured routine with time for free play, learning centers, snacks, circle time, reading and outdoor play. We begin jumping in depth with our Zoo Phonics curriculum and practice recognition of letters and numbers. Each week we focus on a new letter learning sounds, sight words and recognition. With the help of Zoo Phonics we also sing songs that help facilitate our letters and sounds. We guide each child through critical thinking and problem solving as we support them to think and solve on their own. In addition, we practice our number recognition, patterns and counting.

There are many opportunities to learn and grow within A KID’S LIFE, we know you and your child will love all the amazing activities we have to offer. Outside of the classroom curriculum, we have free play on our outdoor playground, art studio, covered sand box, gardening and other activities that stimulate physical development. We know how much fun going outside to “play” is, so we make it fun by providing activities for your child to learn how to climb, run, pedal a tricycle/scooter and skip.

Our transitional kindergarten (TK) classroom offers a wide range of hands on phonics curriculum that incorporates everything in our preschool setting and more. Our TK classroom invites our families to join our teachers as we prepare for life as a kindergartener. We guide our children in kindergarten preparedness as we work towards engaging in small and large group activities, sight words, reading and math. Our teachers are dedicated to your child’s success and we are ready to work with you and your child to get ready for kindergarten.
